Warm Up 15 minutes:  Module 5.2 Education Reform p.237-240 One American’s Story and Expanding Public Education
  1. How and why did public education expand during this time?
  2. How was education done different for immigrants and non-white children?
Video 10 minutes: How was DuBois’s The Souls of Black Folk different from other works of the times?
Reading 15 minutes: Module 5.2 Education Reform p. 240 Describe the state of higher education at the turn of the century.
GRWB 20 minutes: Module 5.2 Education Reform and Segregation and Discrimination p. 78-80
Closing 5 minutes: Review Objectives and Essential Question.
Session 2
